EOS is the brainchild of Dan Larrimer, the founder of BitShares and Steem. He developed EOS has a structural response to a cryptocurrency marketplace problem. EOS is a blockchain technology, with technical similarities to Ethereum, but diverges with the ability to undertake parallel processing whilst have a 'constitutional' focussed node guideline system. It is an evolutionary system - with inbuilt future-proofing courtesy of a five percent inflation busting network carriage cost.
EOS is, technically, an operating system platform that allows developers to utilise the blockchain to create EOS applications. The structural apparatus means that an EOS 'token' is a de facto claim on an EOS application server resource. EOS tokens can only be used on the EOS blockchain and by holding the currency transaction costs are limited by proof of ownership.
